Next Saturday, November 21st, we will be watching Katsuhiro Otomo's classic sci-fi masterpiece Akira in the FS3B-Auditorium! The showing will be around 9:00 p.m. and we can mingle prior to that around 8:30 p.m. This is a pretty interesting take on the giant manga series that dominated in the 80s. Even to this day, there has been few anime with the animation quality of this movie and with plots as complicated. If you have not seen this film yet, you're in for a treat!

Fantastic News!
Hey everyone,
As many of you know, I accepted a job offer that was too good to refuse. I will be moving up in my career and doing big things. This means that I will no longer be part of the Full Sail University faculty, which we all thought would hurt the club.
We discussed this a few times already and had decided to do thing unofficially and have meetings when we can, where we can.
HOWEVER!
After trying to schedule a special meeting(which is still in the works because the original slot I wanted just got snatched up), I asked about holding meetings on weekends at the Full Sail University if there is a free room.
I was told that if a room is free on the weekends, then that reserving it will not be a problem at all! This means that we can still meet as normal as we can! Huzzah!

Orlando Japan Festival 2009! This Sunday!
Last December, the Propeller Anime Club took a trip to the Orlando Japan Festival and it was awesome! Lots of good food was feasted on, and we saw many performances and demonstrations that celebrated Japanese culture.
We plan to go again as this year's Orlando Japan Festival will be held this Sunday, November 8th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in The Village at Hunters Creek on John Young Parkway. We'll be carpooling there as a club and we will be meeting early on Sunday to do so. We'll be meeting in front of FS3B and leaving around 11:25 am for the event. We'll take I-4 west to get to John Young Parkway.
The event is free, but there will be vendors selling kimonos, art, food, candy, and other Japanese products. They only take cash so make sure that you have some in case you want to by something. At some point during the day, we'll have lunch as a club at the nearby indoor Japanese restaurant. If you are on a budget and just want to hang out, that's cool. I am sure some of our convention buddies from Megacon and AFO will be seeing us at some point!
Also, it's totally okay to wear a kimono to this event if you got one!
Much fun will be had and I hope to see you all this Sunday!

Three year anniversary photos!
Sunday, October 25th was when we celebrated the three year anniversary of the Propeller Anime Club! The founding date was on October 22nd in 2006. It's been a fun three years with many adventures and stories to tell, along with many strong friendships formed!
I am really happy with how the club has grown so far and I hope that we continue to prosper in the future! Our get together was a mix of eating sweets, sharing stories, watching awesome anime, and even taking a trip to the local Florida Oriental Trading anime shop that is in downtown Orlando.
Fun times were had and here are some pictures:
